Let me elaborate a little for those that are too young or too stupid to know goons background. They were a mere small corporation, starting to recruit their members out of close.knit community on some forums. They quickly gained numbers, since their guerrilla tactics proved working and alot of fresh players saw goons as a funny corporation. What they didn’t know, that goons used alot of tactics, that weren’t really  fair and nice. Most of them included blobing to that limit, that server crashed. I still have a vivid memory of a JV1V battle. Lotka Volterra alliance was building first titan and it was about to be build, when some insider information leaked from LV leadership and goonswarm, RA and TCF decided to abort the baby titan. All good till that european morning. I remember setting an alarm clock (it was an POS caretaker fuckup to let tower come out in their prime time..) for 5am, getting some serious looks from my ex-gf, wtf am I on already..

Long story short: Attackers managed to gather around 3.000 pilot gang and problem appeared, when they realized, that if they jump 300 pilots into sieged system, already reinforced with 400 of defenders, that node will simply die, making everybody in system to loose connection AND putting jump-ins into system as a higher priority then logins into system (which was whole defending gang from LV and BoB). Once the node came up, they managed to lit a cyno before even 20 defending pilots managed to login, they jumped in dreads and that was a start of the end of LV.

This is just an example how goons used their advantages with having more member base then any other alliance in eve (other “tactics”: creating hundreds of disposable alts and throwing them into meat grinder in war against BoB and MC, copying hundreds of bookmarks (when they were still very  server resources hungry) to create lag on node, using only cheap t1 frigs and cruisers so enemy ammo costs more then ship itself when poped, …).

So, why comparing EvE Uni to Goons? Because, they use same tactics: flying only in blobs: check; flying only cheap t1 frigs: check; using alot of ecm: check. Yes, of course, thats their tactics, they have numbers, they can afford that. But advertising yourself as a teaching school for newbies and then only stuff that u get from eve uni is simple: NEVER UNDOCK IF NOT IN FLEET AND WITH FC!. Yes, they seriously have that as a rule. When they get out of eve uni, “graduates” are lost in space. They dont know how to survive without someone telling them who to shoot, when to shoot and when to undock. They dont teach them tactics in small gang warfare, they dont teach them and honor. They teach them only that numbers can win. Sure they can, but solo pvp is getting extincted here. And trust me, solo pvp is best pvp. Only there the real skill, not just SP and iskies is shown.

Ofc, i will now get flamed that i never solo pvp, I always have neut RR behind my back, but I’m sure, there are few pilots that know, that i dont need neutral RR to win a fight. They are they just in case if opponent brings neut RR or more numbers, which is, ofc, happening more and more, all because corporations like EvE Uni.

For example: Yesterday we got a report  of a blinky carrier in decon. We gathered our small fleet to check it out and after an hour long wait, blinky carrier really undocks and starts repping his friend who agreed on 1:1. e lost a BS in that fight, we also took down a carrier although he had another carrier repping him, and that was with only 10 pilots. We did have our own carrier for support, just in case they would blob us with more pilots. So, to conclude: we had our own RR just because we knew, that they WILL bring their own. Killmail is made up, since carrier managed to self destruct in 30% structure.

Back to EvE Uni goons. I was hanging in their public chat for first few days of war and i heard one thing mentioned couple of times: “we have numbers, lets go take one system just for our own.”. Again, same attitude as goons. And that will happen sooner or later, once leadership smells enough iskies to risk it. Which brings me to another point of whole war against EvE Uni: Leadership in this kind of corporations is getting filthy rich from work their members put in. E-U has tax rate of 7.5%. They have 1350 members, lets say 50% of them is active and not alts. That bring us 775members from which lets take 25 of leadership folks. So 750 members are taxed 7.5%. I’m sure there are alot of ppl among those 750 pilots that do missions everyday, earning up to 50mil per day. That is 300members * 50mil * 0.075 = around 1bil, per day, from taxes, directly into corp wallet. Ofc, they have some expenses with alliance, they run t1 frig, destroyer and cruiser replacement program (on some very limited basis tho..), they have some public hangars. But if they spend more then 5bil per month for replacing t1 cruisers and mods, I think they need better supplier. That is 5bil out of 30bil produced each month from taxes from mission runners. Where does the rest of the taxes go I wonder.

Same story is with RvB project. I know for fact, that somebody is making serious money out of those poor pvpers that are only loosing t1 frigs and cruisers. Its enough if u put up 10% margin onto most sold item in that system and u can make some pretty good iskies in no time..

But don’t get me wrong! I’m not jealous because i didn’t remember how to squeeze some poor noobs our of their own iskies in non-scamming way. Its just all that high-up stand on how good they are for eve community but all they do is teach newcomers that u should blob in case of aggression and they only get rich for that, filthy rich. I have enough iskies for myself, but looking how hypocrite they all are, makes me wanna kill something. And that why we declared war.

Maybe it really was a little bad timing, since few of our members have some RL issues that need to handle, but I’m sure people will soon realize, that somebody is running some sweatshop directly in eve universe, its just named EvE University.

As for all those comments that were put up on this blog site: I don’t whine about blobs, about ecm nor neut RR, I just have a problem when I get smacked for using same tactics as my opponents are and suddenly I’m the looser/bad guy/idiot.

To all that read this: Think about what big corporations are doing in RL. ATM, we have really bad crisis in my home country and this whole situation is reflected into eve universe. Selected few get rich while all other get nothing and whole eve is devolving into some big blob warfare, now even in empire space, not only in 0.0. Do we really wanna have this kind of game? No more solo flying? No more small fleet warfare?

And for conclusion I link you this engagement proving, that EvE Uni doesnt teach anything: engagement: they managed to loose everybody in lowsec for only three kills? No bubbles up, no nothing.  They dont teach how to fight on equal terms, they only teach how to blob. I’m not butt hurt because they managed to blob my frigate once, nor because I miss clicked on their POS and got instagibbed. I’m just saying that they are false advertising what they do. And sometimes even with blob, they fail hard: engagement.

But yet again, I lost the point I tried to point out. It should be something like this: EvE Uni is getting stronger with numbers, its leadership with iskies. Unfortunately, they don’t get stronger with tactics , since their FCs and leadership are forcing them to stay docked until they have a massive fleet ready to undock. They did promise us staying docked for the duration of war, but as I was gathering intel, most of the uni guys is docked through the day and only can undock when they have sufficient numbers. Is that really a gameplay that is good for EvE Online game?

They either have this or this in fleet or they are forbidden to undock. Thats even worse then being in a sweatshop:D

We will be postponing this war to a later time, since my small corporation is unable to fight this kind of blobs. But i’m certain we will visit eve uni at later time. And we also learned a lesson from this war, which is good:D

playing EvE what has become, I kept them for myself for most of the part. Can’t fight the fire if only ppl that are replying on your views are smackers and pilots that are afraid that they might even need to get some skills to fight outside huge fleets, following FCs orders for f1-f4 actions.

Fuck them, now I have my own space in Internet where I can vent my frustrations. I’ve touched this topic in one of my previous blogs, but since problems are rising even more quicker then i imagined, I think it deserves its own blog.

What has EvE become? It has became MMO in all of its glory. Big numbers in subscriptions, leading to big numbers on CCPs accounts. Ofc, from CCPs view, that is good. More players join in, more juice for them. But do they really want that? Do they really wanna become another WoW? They started as totally unknown developer, developing some hardcore, cruel game in space that most of the gamers simply ignored, since it consumed a lot of time to get somewhere, skill and Skill wise.

Let me mention, that my first character that I started this journey with pilot named SubjectX, which is my original Internet nickname (www.subjectx.net/eng). You can check that he was born in 2005 , which is pretty long time ago. I had one or three months break before I created LordInvisible from scratch and he is my (almost) 78mil SP char. Not bad ha? Raised and fed from 500k SP, starting in game in which I fell in love.

EvE was different. To all those pilots that know how is to see first BS, mining in a belt, be thrilled on getting into 10man gang and going into low sec, traveling 10 jumps into Jel to pickup some ammo u can finally use..I bow to you. I think most of this pilots already left EvE or they devolved into something terrible.

What are all this changes I’m crying about u might ask.. Its hundreds of them. Lets start with lag. Sure, its fun to see live space, every system has at least few pilots doing something, but when it comes to most primitive stuff in EvE, stuff that EvE is build for, FIGHT, PEW PEW, EXPLOSIONS, TEARS and other, I’m not really sure I want so many numbers. Back in the days, i remember, when we got GANGs together and we were proud in having 3 digit numbers. Being in 100 man GANG (not fleet!!) was OMGWTFBBQPWNAGE. Now, if u dont bring 300 man FLEET (yeah, renaming gang to fleet really took away some of that primitive sound of going pwning something), you really dont have to bother coming.

Ofc, there are soloers, pilots that want to fly alone or in small GANGs but they are as rare as trustworthy goons (btw, where are they? Who got rid of cockroaches so fast? Not that i miss them, but still..I have to blame russians now for everything..). Even this pilots are getting reduced in their numbers. Just few days back i read about WildCat selling his chars (which i dont blame him, i already posted few PC threads for Lord, just not sure what i’ll do with iskies:D, and no, u cannot get my stuff!). He was one of those soloers, engaging larger gangs (fleets..), poping most of them and then dying because of falcons and blobs. Yes, with numbers only thing u can expect is blob. Nobody is gonna sit on a battlefield and let his corp mate only get kill mail. And its safer. Bring 12 pilots to pop one and enemy will simply be vaporized.

Yes, it is true, the other part of this “blob” story is neutral remote repping alts. EvE has plenty of them. Some of them are owned by fighting pilot, some of them are simply idiots that want to get aggression, thus ruining  your fight that would be “fair” (yes, i know, there is no fair in eve, if u get into fair fight, u did something wrong..) and in this manner, u have to bring 13 BSs to pop one before he can dock back with help of his 2 RR alts.

Tbh, i think that eve has become a game where u need at least one alt so u can be competitive  to other players with 3 or more alts (i knew a guy that had 12 accounts!!). CCPs is happy, we are happy, all is right, right?? RIGHT?! NOT!

I admit, I use one too, but not because i’m afraid of loosing bling bling ships. I have him ready if I get baited into a unfair fight. I mean: engaging two BSs in my BSs, having no support whatsoever and then getting blobbed by 4 more BSs its plain stupid (from my side..) act.  Pilots just don’t want to loose SPACE PIXELS, they rather cheat, loosing their INTERNET honor, hidden behind their IP. Its nothing safer then “cheating” and smacking from Russia.

I’ve even managed to get dishonored in a simple 1:1 at the planet between..wait for this.. FRIGATES!! Man brought two logistics to save him. I mean, WTF?

Next, CCPs is doing everything to prevent solo pvp. They buff HP so ships can last longer in big fleets (do they really? I’ve seen insta poping BSs everyday i was in 0.0..) but solo pilot cannot pop enemy before he docks back or gets help. Fuck that solution, its stupid, it encourages blobing. But yeah, CCP wants this to be MM aspect of ORPG. Then why are they then advertising sandbox? It was sandbox, but 3 or 4 years back in time, when ships were balanced way more then they are now. Sometimes beeing in 10km radius of Megathron meant death, now it means u are just tackling it in your BS.

They introduced FW. U guys ever tried to fight against milita? Check our KB for all the battle reports: we poped them one by one, they blobed us with 20 members.  So that another BLOB feature that CCP introduced. Same with POS warfare. They changed it, ofc, but they didn’t fix anything. They moved fight from POSes to tow or three beacons elsewhere in system. U still have to blob to pop it fast. And to rub even more salt into it, they removed AOE superduper smartbomb named doomsday. Now large fleets are no longer afraid of beeing insta poped if they stick around too long, nooo, CCP rather gave titans an carrier insta poping device. Did we really needed that? Was there a trend that ppl started to blob in carriers? I dont think so.. Blob still remains and its getting bigger. Check some big alliances killboards. Rarely there is below 20 pilots on a killmail. Yes, ganking lonely rater or macroer doesnt count. Where are dogfights that CCP is promoting in their so shiney videos? I must be playing wrong game, looks like CCP is developing another one where all that will be possible.

So yeah, thats about blobs. Either blob or be blobed. Now there will be thoughts: “If you would leave station docking area, we wouldnt need to bring blob”. Yeah, right, tried that, ALWAYS got blobed (or jammed from 100km away..)

Fuck it, solo pvp is dead. There are lonely ganks or few stupid pilots that dont even fill all their fitting slots on ships. If u wanna pew pew, go into low sec, get blobed there, go into 0.0 and get blobed there. Sandbox game baby, yeah!!

Bah, i wanted to write something about CCPs fucked up expansions and their customer support, but I’ll save this for some other time

Well, ISK loss didn’t hurt as much as the fact, that loot god, loot fairly of just one of the random number gods doesn’t like me very much. The deal is, when we go pop, usually all the good stuff drops. In my case ALL THE GOOD STUFF dropped. I wouldn’t be too surprised if fucking subsystems dropped.. But when we pop anything, of course all the shiny loot pops too.. FUCK THAT SHIT, i say! But, life goes on.

To the story:  I decide, being bored and shit, to go check Tourier system. I manage to come across one wt drake at the gates. He engages me and i already knew, they have a gang waiting for me. But, me being me 25/7, i decide to pop him and then GTFO (if needed with a help of my friend in a guardian). Drake pops, i am 2km off gates. Then it happens. One Punisher engages me too. Oh, i can pop that too before blob (or gank fleet, or w/e u wanna call them) arrives. It pops pretty fast, taking down one of my drones in the process. BUT.. then one Ishkur engages me. One Dominix lands on a gates, but too far away from me, me being 12km off the gates, hunting that Ishkur. That is the point i should get the fuck out. But no. Stupid me decided, even when the Ishkur pops, that i should stick around and check what else they bring. I lost another two drones, so i only had 2 left. Then this Merlin warps in. Devil in me: “lets instagib him..yeah, lets to that..” Sigh. This was my death (well, death of my Proteus to be exact). Merlin manages to get close enough to scramble me, so i was sitting like duck, 20km off the gates. And Dominix with a MWD?? who fits that.. well, that guy did. I was suddenly feeling the power of few large neutralizers on my ass. Ouch.

Well, Merlin get below my guns, without cap i cannot web nor scram nor shoot. Two drones are slowly picking him apart, but too slowly, since their gang started to warp-in in masses. I call for help on my guardian, he somehow manages to land 70km off me and starts to rep me. He gets few cycles, but then he has to warp away, all good i see. I can tank them while he gives me some cap that i can pop this Merlin.

But, it was too late.

My armor started to approach 70%, they brought in another neutralizing, bumping Dominix with additional flight of ogres II. Friendly guardian somehow manages to warp 100km off me, being useless there, and he gets tackled. So, no reps for me, no gtfo card for him, since that Dramiel couldn’t get jammed by guardians 5 light ecm drones.

I panicked. yes, i admit, i froze. I forgot that i need to eject when i reach 10% structure, so i don’t loose my SP. Well, i die, horribly, he dies few seconds later (still not sure why didn’t he listen to my order to warp to a gates and stay there, repairing me and getting out if needed.) Ohh, and that blackbird didn’t help either, to any side.

But, dear reader, don’t worry, Proteus is already refitted and waiting for 4days till my skills finishes, so i can use it again in all mighty power:D

So there we were, us two, me and hunter bill, bored to death, Dodi was dead, so we decided to go suicide some BSs into low-sec. TBH, we were REALLY ready to loose them in some good fight. And so we began our journey to system named old man star. Nothing blinky outside so we decided to stick around for few minutes, maybe pirates will smell us.

Some FW guys jumping in and out, nothing unusual. Then hunter (impatient pilot as he is..) decided to go scout Heydieles to check if anything is there. As soon as he jumps out, i land on a station in OMS, just checking air, when suddenly two FW guys (one Gallente and one Calamari) decides to pew pew themselves. I watch, since they are not blinky and i am not a pirate (right??), I let them be. And suddenly, this happened:

So, this dude in a Vexor and one frig got jumped by this gang. I mean, they even brought in logistics support, just in case that Vexor survives more then a few seconds and manages to lock anything. Yeah, his cruiser quickly turned into a wreck.

Well, time to pack bags, i don’t trust a gangs of this size, they might even instagib me.. So, smart me, i warp to Heydieles gates. SMART ME! OFC, when i see all of them warping behind me i blushed. Did i made a newbie mistake again? Well, few of them lock me, few of them jump through. I warp back to a station, and nobody tries to hold me there. Uff, lucky this time.

After few minutes and hunter getting all jumpy that he wants to loose his BS already, i try my luck again and i jump into Heydieles. Nobody at the gates, so we set our route to Murethand. Since I’ve been there a couple of times, seeing two cruisers in a belt getting hot-dropped by a few Nyxes, i was skeptical of any good fights to be had there. But i followed Hunter. He scouts, docks at the station and says: “Ok, so now when i undock, there will be a gang of them, waiting for me..”. So he undocks and he was right. Two Proteuses waiting for him there. He gets insta tackled, so i jump in and warp to him. What to do now. One Proteus in half armor, but he calls primary on second one with full armor. I was checking 360 scan, nothing there, and just when i was aiming for f1 button there comes the shit. Bhaal and nightmare undocking. hunter had already problems tanking two Proteuses, so seeing additional 2k dps on a field i decide to be a chicken and just watch him getting insta melted. When they turn the fire on me, i simply dock, no point in loosing both BSs to pirates in this gang.

And that is not all:D Now, only way to get out of a system is either in a pod or in Mael, but i knew there is at least one of aggressors outside. So, I talk a little with old friend in local and then decide to fit lows full of WCSs and give it a go. Proteus outside, waiting for me. I align to warp, he scrambles. Kronos undocks few seconds behind me. I’m in alignment, but it takes unusually long time to warp. I manage to get out and warp to a empire gates.

And then it begins, pirate smack:

OFC, i use word blob in too many situations. In this one, word gank would be more appropriate, but they both sound lame anyway, so idc. So that dude Haldeeman tries to 1:1 me in low sec. Right.. I tell him that i’m not falling for low-sec 1:1 at the safe spot, so we can go to empire. After few words of how lame am i that i dont trust him (lol?!) he agrees with a 1:1 in empire, next jump to that low-sec we got ganked. Yeah, and since when a pirate word means anything anyway. But..i play along. I tell him that we can duel in maels so he goes and refits his (not sure why u need to refit it, maybe he is a carebear inside and he uses one for missioning?) and it gave me just about enough time to get my neutral alt into that low-sec, to keep an eye on them, and i went back to Dodi to pick up a frig with ship scanner. I have no intention of fighting him anyway. OK, as he gets ready, i see that scimitar appeared on a scan close to a gate to empire. Some other shit appeared without local going up, so that means that someone undocked something and moved closer to gates. When i warp to him at the planet, he insists of me taking his can and not vice versa. Right, i know how aggro works. So, after he sees me in a frig, he gets all mad and smacky, again, calling me names and such. I just LOL at him and tell him, that I’m a too smart for falling for ganks like that.

He warps off, sending me two hate-mails.

I hate blobing. I am more of a lonely wolf, playing eve for fun and not for profit. There is no better feeling then soloing 3 or 4 opponents. It is true, I usually have my alt boosting me and another alt on standby in some RRing ship, just in case they bring in more troops, but other then that, I rarely need any of them, since in my long eve career I have managed to learn how to quickly see, if I can fight outnumbered and win or I have to extend aggression timers on individuals and take them one by one.

Some people say, that EvE is a multiplayer game, thus you always have to be in fleet, play with your friends. NO. Multiplayer doesn’t mean that. It means that I can play against number of other players if I want. SOLO. Although CCP is making this harder and harder with every patch they put out. I have posted many “solutions” to blobing, but I always get same smacking replies from other “PVPers” that I should learn how to blob,  that I should just bring more numbers, that I am a care-bear that cannot kill anything before they dock etc…

But I still manage to get good fights or at least pop somebody and then dock. Then smacking begins: OMG, pussy, undock into our 10 BSs camp, we dare you. WTF? Why would I do that?

The blob your see on picture is from our recent war against RvB project. In short: this project is meant to learn pilots how to blob. I admit, they have few 1:1, but mainly when I’m checking their KB ( http://redfed.eve-kill.net/?a=home and http://bluerep.eve-kill.net/?a=home), there is always a gang of them. Which I don’t mind, fleet warfare is something CCP wants us to do. Problem is only, when this type of pvpers don’t know how to fly solo then. They either stay docked and wait for fleet to get together or undock in a pod and warp away. And they smack a lot, even if I am the only one in local, camping them. They will not undock unless they have FC present which gives them orders. And that’s the main problem: they are used of following orders, like sheep’s. And that’s why I hate this kind of warfare. There is no skill in it. Who brings more, wins. And if u want to to win, you’ll have to bring more every time. This is how lag is created (hello 0.0 warfare..), ppl think that without someone calling a target, they are useless and such.

So, on top picture you see our gang (my Bhaal, 2x Megathron, one Cane, one guardian (which we didn’t even warp in..), one boosting damnation, and i think it was one frig..). We were minding our own business when one of them undocks in a cruiser. OK, we gank him before he manages to dock back and then we hope that they will bring something nice to play with. Sure, they brought it. Dominixes are RRing and neutralizing, they have ECM support and one guardian ready to warp in if that 17 large remote armor repairers from Dominixes don’t manage to tank our OMGWTFBBQ DPS.. There was no losses from our side at that time. So I guess we won

Another engagement:

Same story here – 5 of us in gang (bhaal, guardian(for just in case!), damnation, 2x cane). Of course, it took them 15minutes to undock what u see on pic. Well, I understand that from their POV they are defending their turf and i don’t mind docking if we are outnumbered 3:1, but the smack?!? Oh, its horrible.

And so on, everytime they manage to blob us or they are camped in. Its like a second thing they are teaching them in RvB: smacking when u cannot follow orders on primaries.

Sigh..I really wanted for my first blog to be something extra, but i guess i’m not in the mood today for writing. Maybe next time…
